In today’s Nigerian newspapers review programme, Today in the News, Vanguard leads with an explainer on why the All Progressives Congress (APC) dropped 26 National Assembly aspirants including the former governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam.

Another headline features the Senate saying that mechanisms to stop governors from abusing state police are being developed.

Vanguard also reports that former President Olusegun Obasanjo said Nigeria must not witness another civil war.

Moving to the next newspaper, The Guardian reports that Nigerians are hopeful of lower prices and relief as the Federal Government slashes tariffs.

The Punch’s top headline states that the APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may clash over the row arising from the party’s primaries for Senate aspirants.

Lastly, The Nation’s biggest headline features INEC saying that its 93 million-voter register contains the names of deceased people.
