There are indications that former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, and the All Progressives Congress Governorship Candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola, may have settled their political differences, as both leaders have expressed readiness to work together for the victory of the ruling party in the state.
The development was made known in Abeokuta, the state capital, after a closed-door meeting that lasted over an hour.
The meeting was attended by the two leaders and former Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, among other party chieftains.
It was described as a strategic consultative engagement. After years of political acrimony, the leaders appear to have put the past behind them.
To many observers, the meeting is part of a broader reconciliation move to reunite aggrieved groups and members of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Our focus now is unity and victory for APC in Ogun State. We are putting party and people first. We are all the same, no discrimination again” former governor Amosun hinted.
While expressing his support for the party’s governorship candidate, Adeola Solomon, the former governor called for unity of purpose before, during, and after the 2027 general elections
” He is our candidate, and we must all rally round him and our party, the APC to ensure victory of our party”.

The Governorship candidate of the party in the state, Solomon Adeola, seeks the cooperation and support of the former governor and his supporters.
“As you are rightly aware, your Excellency, I am the our party’s governorship candidate, I am here to present myself to you, and I am seeking your support, prayers, and guidance for the victory of our party come 2027”.
As part of the consultations, the governorship candidate and his team also visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta.
Senator Adeola formally presented himself as the APC governorship candidate, while the former president advised on the need for inclusive governance.

Addressing the APC candidate, Obasanjo said, “My prayer is that your desires and your ambitions will be in alignment with what God has planned for you.”
“You see, one of our greatest challenges in life is that we often grow in darkness when we do not know God’s plan for our lives.”
“I keep telling people that, initially, I wanted to study geology. I even gained admission to college. My dream was to go to America, study geology, become a great geologist, and work in the oil and gas industry.”
“But that was not God’s plan for me. God’s plan was different. His plan was for me to make progress through the military. That was the path He had prepared for me, and He helped me every step of the way. I pray that God’s purpose for your life will also be fulfilled.”
The former President further urged Adeola to remain focused on his goals.
“Be focused on what you want to do and what you want to achieve. If anyone has a goal or an aspiration, let them declare it, pursue it with determination, and leave the rest to God and to our people,” he added.
The former president admonished his guest to focus more on Agriculture because of its potential for job creation, food security, and economic transformation.
