Channels TV Wins Media Leadership Prize At Lagos Enterprise And Excellence Awards 2026

Multiple award-winning broadcaster Channels Television has added to its long list of laurels after being honoured with the Media Leadership prize at the 2026 Lagos Enterprise and Excellence Awards.

The award, hosted by the Nigerian Achievers Awards Institute (NAAI), recognises outstanding individuals and organisations whose exceptional contributions continue to drive the economic and social development of Lagos State.

Receiving the award on behalf of Channels Television’s management, News Editor Melinda Akinlami expressed appreciation for the recognition and reaffirmed the station’s commitment to excellence.

“On behalf of the management and staff of Channels Television, I would like to say a big thank you. We sincerely appreciate this award. It is a commitment to work harder for the good of everyone. Thank you so much, and God bless you,” she said.

President of the Nigerian Achievers Awards Institute (Global) and Convener of Opportunity Conference Lagos, Afolabi Andu, said it is important to project the remarkable achievements of Nigerians and showcase them on the global stage.

“In the health sector, in infrastructure, and in the public sector, it’s just so important that we continue to project what incredible people are doing both here and globally,” Andu said.

He described Lagos State as a beacon of resilience, creativity, commerce and limitless potential in Africa.

“Today, we convene not merely to discuss possibilities, but to unlock opportunities that will redefine economic growth, urban transformation, tourism, infrastructure, sustainability, technology, enterprise and investment across our great city.”

“Lagos remains a beacon of resilience, creativity, commerce and limitless potential in Africa, and this conference serves as a strategic platform to foster collaboration, inspire bold ideas and drive actionable solutions for inclusive prosperity,” he added.

Speaking on the significance of the recognition, Andu said the award recipients serve as ambassadors of the Nigerian brand and should continue to inspire others through their achievements.

“I believe that the recipients are effectively ambassadors, so the honour should really be on them. The role they will play is to continue to project Nigeria in the most inspiring way and to continue to make an impact. For those who see such examples, they too will be inspired. So, they should be the representatives of that Nigerian brand,” he noted.

The event brought together policymakers, government leaders, captains of industry, and distinguished members of the diplomatic community in Lagos.

For over two decades, the Nigerian Achievers Awards Institute (Global) has remained committed to identifying, celebrating, and promoting exceptional Nigerians who have projected Nigeria positively on the global stage.

The Lagos Enterprise & Excellence Awards was established as a prestigious platform dedicated to recognising public and private sector institutions that have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, service delivery, economic impact, and commitment to the advancement of Lagos State.

It spotlights excellence across ten categories: arts, culture and creative industries; community development; entrepreneurship and enterprise development; healthcare; hospitality and tourism; media and communications; public service and governance; real estate and urban development; security and safety; and the Special Recognition Award.
