According to reports, the Flying Eagles are expected to depart for Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on July 20, six days before the tournament kicks off.

Flying Eagles head coach Abdu Maikaba will submit his final squad for the upcoming WAFU B U-20 Championship on July 10 as preparations intensify for the regional tournament.

The team, which opened camp in Abuja earlier this month, is currently undergoing final assessments as Maikaba trims his squad ahead of the competition.

According to reports, the Flying Eagles are expected to depart for Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on July 20, six days before the tournament kicks off.

Nigeria will head into the championship as defending champions after winning the previous edition held in Niamey, Niger Republic.

The WAFU B U-20 Championship, scheduled to run from July 26 to August 9, will also serve as the qualifying tournament for the 2027 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

Maikaba and his players will be aiming to retain their regional crown and secure a place at the continental championship.
