2026 World Cup: Six African countries qualify for Round of 32

Six of the 10 African countries at the 2026 World Cup have qualified for the Round of 32.

Cape Verde and Ghana confirmed their spots after Saturday’s fixtures.

Although the Black Stars are yet to play their final group game against Croatia, Spain’s 1-0 win over Uruguay means they are through.

For Cape Verde, their third consecutive draw at the tournament, saw them finish in second place behind Spain.

They both join Egypt, Morocco, South Africa and Cote d’Ivoire in the knockout rounds.

Tunisia has officially been eliminated, while Senegal, Algeria and the DR Congo are waiting to see if they will finish as one of the best third-place teams.
